Mission POSSIBLE !!


Where my people @.....Hope everything is cool with you all and that you have all started the week on a good note....Well mine hasn't been too bad....Had an appointment with my dissertation Supervisor today and he is very happy with my work so far ..so all I have to do is keep a low profile and finish hard as it is due in about three weeks.

This post is one of my random ones so pardon me if i hop from one topic to the other.....


I went shopping with my one of my girlfriends over the weekend and came across a lovely bikini that i just could bring myself to try on ... you see the thing is that yours truly has been slaking in the fitness department for almost a year now causing me to loose my flat tummy and to gain a pair of very irritating love handles that have refused to disappear. The devil is a liar .... I have bought that bikini and I will fit perfectly into it for my next holiday/ Honeymoon...lol


My friend encouraged me to try it one... going on about how my bits are not as bad as i say...so me too like mumu ... i tried it on and damn didnt it look good on....but those fatty bits just had to make themselves seen no matter ho hard i tried to conceal them.....by adjusting straps here and there.

So I have finally decided I NEED TO LOOSE A BIT OF WEIGHT!!! I decided to weight myself when i got home and i must confess it wasn't good at all. I have gone from weighting 11 stone to 13.5 stone in the last year.....That is not good!!
Mr claims that I look good but probably need to loose just a little bit .....and that just killed me because that was his way of saying Yeah i do think that you are a bit on the chubby side now!! FUMING!!!! He always has to try and be diplomatic about everything.
I am a bit frustrated with my weight although friends keep telling me that i look ok. But i don't see ok when i look in the mirror....you see the thing is that I am 5'10 in height and have a figure that hides my weight and it also doesn't help that my big tata's, melon, tits....whatever you call them....already make me feel a bit funny about my body..(dont u go telling me 'big boobs are sexy and all that rubbish) YOU try carrying them around for a day.......

So I have decided to take up RUNNING and Skipping to get me started ... just something to keep fit and possibly shift the love handles and my extra tummy...... Joining the gym is out of the question for now as i had a not so nice experience about 6 months ago when I joined the gym in order to tone up a bit and to shift those bits and guess what....i got really pissed off cus i didnt seem to be toning up or losing any weight although i felt that i was building my stamina , in fact i actually gained a bit more weight over that time and decided to stop going to the gym altogether......
Anyway no shaking... its about time i get back into shape ... as I will have found my Wedding gown for December and will be starting my fittings in a few months and you know I also need to shape up for our Honeymoon period and the life of ever ready and everlasting sex (Morning, afternoon and evening).......lol

Any ideas on ways in which i can shift my 'baby fat' ??? I am really crap at dieting cus i cant do without my agege bread, Eba, Kenkey, Rice , Rice Rice and More Rice oh yes and my pasta.

Lie lie... i will fit into that bikini and into my wedding gown without any wahala. i will be the stunning and blushing bride....I need to knock Mr OFF HIS FEET.....

Anyway.... yours truly is off to look for some running shoes on ebay...


Mission possible? Sure thing !!!!

Ps: This is not a ladies only post ooh so guys please feel free to comment.. i dont want to mention names...dont be silent bloggers ooh..

so I have come to re=claim my spot,

I forgot to tell u, lost 7 pounds, 3 inches off my waist and 4 off my tummy, when I saw it, I was jumping, bcos I let go of the diet/exercise thing for awhile

but I've bn trying to diet for a month so it's working

All I can say is don't eliminate the carbs over all, just eat in small portions, with the past switch to wheat pasta, n u know eat, just be more active,

It seems u,I and O.N.B are on a wagon

ahhh...the spring brings out the health and fitness fanatic in us all huh?...about the gym thing...i hate the gym, but i am writing this because it seems as though you may have left the gym for the wrong reason...if you are pretty flabby now, when you start lifting weights/toning muscle, you will seem to put on weight because muscle weighs more than fat (trust me, i know!!!...people are always shocked by my weight because i look smaller than what i weigh due to muscle...i think most african women do anyway)...so, maybe you can give the gym another shot...

...running sounds good...playing some sport-like football-or swimming even, in your new bikini;)...swimming is actually a really good overall workout...as i suggested to ollay, i search youtube for awilo videos or other african music and dance my butt off ( i especially love awilo's mandongo song...shei i can't sit and watch that video)...my mom also has soukous videos that i dance to...quite a workout!...tones your legs, butt and abs...especially if you dip it and do the turns like the women in the videos...wind that waist!!...brazilian samba in heels will work it out too!!!

...as for eating, eat o!!!...just make sure you are eating only when hungry...you are writing a paper and may have the tendency to munch as you write or research...also, drink plenty water...we sometimes mistake thirst for hunger and overeat...keep us posted...tis very possible and you will fit into that dress and bikini!!...*raises her glass*...a toast to sex morning, noon and night...

@ Undercover: Thanks hon....checked it out but all thier venues seem so far from me.. will give them a call in the morning. Just look out for me jogging up and down camden high street....lol x x x x

@guerreiranigeriana: well said/explained .. u see the silly cow at the gym did not bother to expalin the reason for my sudden weight gain all she kept say was 'aw it will take a while b4 u start to see any changes'
I'll try it out .. dunno about those awilo videos ooh all that whining of waist and things make it feel a little x rated... al the better ei kill two birds with one stone...work out to awilo while Mr is watching .. what happens after that...wink wink...lol dont mind me.. I am crazy like that....lol

You can get tapes to use at home. On amazon they only seem to have VHS tapes. I got my DVD on ebay...I'll still be looking out for you on Camden High Street tho' :)

Avoid carbs as much as you can, skip rice and go for beans. Pile more veg/fish with your kenkee, eba and stuff.

They say avoid red meat

Drink lots of water

Avid eating after 6.30

of course mission possible.....but bad news...agege bread, rice and stuff will have to be brought to minimal level, eat healthy and be concious of what goes in, patience determination

First i stay away from Blogsville and consequently arewa's page for over a month and then i return to find out that she has a problem that i can solve.

Back to the problem.

I think the best way to loose weight is not to freak over it and over do it.

The weird thing isIf you starve yourself your body ends up saving weight because it kicks into what experts call survival mode.

SO the trick is keep eating ( small er meals) and exercise more.

I thnk the best method of exercise is walking.
If you manage to squeeze in 45 minutes in the morning and evening and keep at it for a week , i guarantee you'll loose weight.

ANother sad thing is the older you get the less calories you burn. SO if you want to keep up burning the same amount of calories you;re going to have to hit the gym and start building muscles because they;re fantastic calorie burners.

Just sitting with muscles will burn calories. That;s why having them is so cool.

there is this diet plan my elder sister is currently doing. she goes on non sugary fruits,(paw paw, cucumber, carrots,pears)vegetable and water only for three days and then on the fourth she eats only proteins (beans, moi moi)and repeats the circle again. the results where amazing

Oh gosh! I feel you. I cheated and went to see a weight specialist and started hitting the gym about 3 times per week.

Zena has great advise. Try to eat 3-4 small meals every 4 hours, about 300 calories per meal and no more that 30 grams of fat per day to keep your metabolism burning and walk if you don't want to hit the gym.

lol... i thought i was the only one on the mission to tighten and tone... lol.. i joined a gym and ive actually fallen in love with it(well im only a few days in so ask me in 2 weeks.. lol) but i got a personal trainer to help me out initially and now i sort of know what to do with certain machines and i have fitness consultations every 3 weeks to track my progress and switch up my routin.. i go like 4 times a week... and tomrrow ill find out if i've lost or gained anything.. its exciting. .but good luck my darling.. i have some shorts to fit into... and 2 dresses.. lol cant wait till they fit perfectly... and im sure they will cos i dedicate no be small.. goodluck with the wedding.. ur hubby is cute.. lol... guys and their diplomacy.. i Love it... we'll trade tips and figure this thing ouT!!! lol...

D skipping & jogging shold help, u can do some sit-ups 2 help with d tommy.

Aspa adding weight wen u went 2 d gym its muscle, so its nt bad. That happens at first, but it burns fat.

run, baby, run! I love running and have used it post pregnancy. You have to be disciplined and it can be bad for your joints if not done correctly, but I am sure that in no time you will achieve the goals you seek!

lol!!if my man ever called me fat, it would be a fly kick at the back of his head mate!!about calling me fat!!check yourself before you wreck yourself!
all i can say is eat a lot of veg and fruit...carbs are essential but try eating fish and chicken- avoid meat as it can take up to 10 days to digest... have lots of spicy food- cos that increases your metabolism and avoid chocolate- chocolate is wack!! but if you do but some, id gladly take them off you!!

Babes, I think I have gym-phobia. lol. That place just doesn't work for me man.
Trying to cut down on carbs but my love for rice, pasta won't let me. This weight loss mission is not easy at all.
I try to not to eat at ungodly hours. lol. Oh, and I've started taking long walks.

Don't worry babes, we'll fit into that bikini perfectly by hook or by crook. lol.

me thinks u r already on ur way with the way ur positivity that u'll fit into the bikini,and the wedding dress jare! why cant positive confession just do it sef?...lol
